Building the next Silicon Valley takes many things...Talent. Angel networks. Capital. Exits. On and on.But one perhaps overlooked element? Time.Across Carta companies, 63% of priced seed rounds were raised by companies outside of the Bay and NYC over the past two years. That same figure is just barely over half for Series E+ rounds.Interesting to see the Bay Area advantage in such sharp relief even in comparison to New York. The two ecosystems are drawing more level in early-stage, but the Bay has more than triple the Series E+ share. So, to all the startup ecosystems outside of the Valley, you got this. Just give it time. And letâs celebrate that startups really can start anywhere these days!CARTA put out somerapid preliminary data on Q4 and FY 2023 last week - https://bit.ly/3HhdYJ2 (6 charts up front, with another 8 in the downloadable addendum for the detail-oriented among you).#startups #founders #global #notfromsiliconvalley #thefundraisingangel

Early Stage Investor in Israeli Startups

Itâs been incredible to see so many familiar faces at the Mind the Tech conference in New York this past week. The Israeli-NYC tech ecosystem is as vibrant as ever.If we needed a sign of reassurance, this conference has given us just that (and so much more). As we close out the week (and the conference), I wanted to share my gratitude to Calcalist ××××××Ą× for giving me an opportunity to share my thoughts on the evolution of the Startup Nation, and the growth of NY tech. After living and breathing these 2 tech scenes for over 15 years, itâs clear that the brand that Israeli startups have developed over the past decade is extremely strong, and has been beautiful to see grow and develop.I feel very fortunate to be having a front-row seat in this ecosystem.Since 2010, we've seen an influx of capital into NYC, with over 300 funds now based here, and a staggering 70-80% of them focusing on Seed and Series A investments. When we came up with 97212 Ventures, aptly named to symbolize the relationship between Israel's 972 and NYC's 212 area codes⌠we wanted to double down on investing in Israeli pre-seed, and seed startups, who are committing to building their companies in NYC.Because when you combine innovation, creativity, capital, and a thriving community, the sky's the limit. We've proudly launched our Diversity-X Angel Syndicate (which we will run through the Vauban from Carta platform), and now we're reaching out to you for assistance. Our mission is to revolutionize the early-stage startup landscape by actually infusing funds into underestimated founders who are driving sustainable impact startups. We've been approached by incredibly innovative startups that have gained substantial traction but lack sufficient backing. Determined to make a difference, we are taking action.Months of dedicated work, along with the invaluable assistance of Kevin Withane (FRSA) Withane and others, have gone into creating this syndicate. Our aspiration is to initially facilitate 10 deals annually, with a strong emphasis on taking a lead role, though by no means a pre-requisite. It's high time to rewrite the narrative â the one where underestimated founders get the funding needed to drive forward their businesses and impact the world. We're committed to making headlines by supporting innovative underestimated founders as they confront real-world problems head-on.So, I pose this question to you: Do you wish to be a proactive contributor or an observer? If you're keen on investing in founders who genuinely require help, support, and above all, capital, click the following link to join our syndicate.Link: đ https://lnkd.in/ejCDST3VJoin our founder's community: đ https://lnkd.in/ew7cm25P
