How hard is it to get into Keck medical school? ›

Keck School of Medicine of USC GPA, MCAT, GPA, and Admission Rate. The admissions process for the class of 2027 at Keck School of Medicine of USC was highly competitive. The school received a total of 8,000 applications, out of which 750 candidates were interviewed. Ultimately, only 185 applicants were admitted.

Criteria for Admission

Therefore, if aiming to maximize chances of admission into most North American medical schools, a 517 is a good score since it's well above the scores the majority of MCAT testers will receive.

Considering that a 507 is quite close to the average MCAT score of a 501, it's not very competitive for med-school admission. With a 507, you might make some med-school score cutoffs, but the rest of your application needs to be very competitive to make you a viable candidate for most med-schools.

But, the easy answer is: MCAT. Some med schools believe that GPA is a better indicator of future success because it measures your work ethic and determination. However, your MCAT score is the only factor that is completely objective. It is the only factor that can compare all students evenly.
